I think this is the current status....
Intel trounces AMD in all 1P segments. They probably beat or are neck and neck in 2P segments. AMD beats Intel in 4P and up. and in all instances AMD trounces Intel in memory bandwidth.

Competition rules. Cant wait for the first gen AMD/ATI chipsets, then you can get all your logic from one vendor, which in my experience leads to fewer headaches.
