I agree ... but only sort of
I agree that the HD makers use decimal-based storage calculations in order to deceive. Obviously.

But what I don't agree on is that everyone ought to be using a base-2 system. Rather, I think everyone ought to be using the decimal system, as the HD makers do.

It would be a hell of a lot easier to do calculations (in one's head, anyway). And let's not forget that long, long ago, the only reason the binary system was used is that "1,024 is close enough to 1,000 that it won't matter". So actually, it was the binary guys who started out the deception, in a way...
