Generic Intel boards?
Never! The boards I am referring to are themselves manufactured by Intel. For years I only used third party boards with AMD processors, but eventually I became burned just too many times. At this point I will only use Intel processors on Intel boards until such time as AMD gets their act together and makes their design easier to assemble, easier to configure in terms of BIOS (Intel provides what I consider to be a far more robust BIOS architecture), and far more resistant to heat failure. And you are correct, many of these problems are due to the third party board manufacturers, and I would actually love to be able to support these people, but the price is just getting too high. Not to mention the fact that you go to a lot of their sites and prominately displayed is a disclaimer stating WE DO NOT SUPPORT LINUX. Well, Intel now includes Linux support on their site and that, in addition to all the above, has my attention and my business.
