When I say flawless installs ...
I mean totally pain free and without incident. That is more than I can say for the other boards I have used. For example: Soyo AMD based system. I have all but given up on this one. It was hell getting the processor/heatsink/fan arrangement attached with the clip, and when I finally did the processor overheated and was dead in no time. In the case of the Intel boards, the whole thing just drops down and locks in AND when the processor overheats, its smart enough to shut down and let know there is a problem, but not the AMD approach. If you make a mistake there, its all over. Another example. An ASUS board. I build the system and it acts erratically and sometimes fails to boot. It give no indication as to what is wrong. So I pull the ASUS board and install an Intel board and ... duh ... the Intel board immediately tells me there is a problem with the power supply. I could go on. But the bottom line is that I have just gotten tired of the stupid stuff that makes my job harder. So if AMD works for you, thats fine. For some people privacy is so important that they would drive a Yugo if that could somehow guarantee privacy. For me a computer is something I use to get a job done. And I don't have time to futz with silly stuff that could easily be avoided by half way intelligent design.
