Idiot...
Still insisting that Open Source causes job losses. What a moron. Most of the people working on the Linux kernel itself are employed by large corporations specifically to work on the kernel. It's largely a collaborative industrial effort. Many device drivers are written by people in their spare time because it's fun - and the stinking manufacturers won't provide drivers. How is this causing job losses? Let's look at the KDE project - how many job losses has that caused in Microsoft? Oh, none - well that's such a pity really. A lot of this software is just the common trade tools - on some projects development support is provided by other businesses who make their money customizing or configuring these products. Everyone's happy to chip in a little to support a project taht they otherwise don't have the resources to support. Some esoteric software will always be free because there's really no market for it and it wouldn't be improved otherwise. "Open Source causes job losses" is Micro$*** FUD - the truth is the opposite - Open Source creates new job opportunities. RedHat wouldn't exist without Open Source and numerous thriving businesses including large high-performance-computing companies would be struggling with 20-odd variations of UNIX. And the big thing is there would be absolutely no competition in the desktop OS and "office apps" without Open Source. The world would be filled with Microsoft lackeys. So stop that crap about Open Source causing job losses.
