What next? SUV chips? The HUMMER CPU?
I see a patern paralleling the auto industry. First comes practical four-by-fours, then they try to outdo each other with larger, more powerful, less efficient machines, eventually resulting in a monstrosity that only a lesbian would want to drive. Fortunately, the reality of $4/gallon gas is putting an end to the SUV madness.

Let's hope a similar spike in electricity rates (if you lived in MD, you know what I'm talking about) isn't needed to make Intel and AMD realize that that the SUV-CPUs they plan are BAD and WRONG.

If they do make such quad-cores without quadrupling the heat or wattage, more power to them... Literally.
