And the reason why we are even talking about desktops being a commodity is because MS dropped the ball. There's been virtually no improvements coming out of MS in five years or more, and others have caught up and in some aspects surpassed MS. The small improvements they have made are mostly eye candy to the end user. If they had been concentrating on that market rather than get side tracked, maybe we wouldn't be talking about Linux and Apple.
