Desktops are commodity
in the near and dear future, it'll be a market race with linux and Apple offerings maybe even Sun that profit margins will be razor thin and almost any code jockey could cobble out (into one of hundreds of distros worldwide). Dabble in multiple markets, see where profits can either be a gain or a replacement, cut risk of long term losses, promote business name or further its known status, . . . become the Sony, Honda, Dae Woo of the industry by being in multiple and sometimes opposing markets - (because Sony electronics just love ripping DVDs and music off of Sony music wink ). And quality is job one. LOL
