Forgot a few devices
like mice, keyboards, and gaming devices. While I currently prefer Logitech, MS's devices have sometimes been slightly better and when worse, only slightly worse.

I agree with a poster above who says that the portable digital music player market is different than any other market MS has played in because of how important "cool" is. Mac markets all of its products as "cool". The problem in the computer market is that very few people really care how "cool" their computer is. People do care how "cool" they look with their white earbuds though and Apple did a great job realizing and capitalizing on it. As has been painfully obvious for all of iPod's competitors, you simply can't beat Apple based on features or on price (in fact, expensive is part of being "cool"). MS's only chance is to distance its brand name as much as possible from Zune. From what I've seen on the Zune teaser website, this is what they are doing.
