Good thing then ...
... that there aren't a lot of people like you then. Some yes, but not a lot.

I don't care what they run ON the player, I only care about what can be used to put music on the player - and what formats/restrictions it imposes.

I only care if it works seamlessly with my linux desktop. If it doesn't, there are plenty of other good players out there that do!!
