Think of the Tool Implications
Some of us writing code wait for the software development tool even though the task is asynchronous. Think about compiles and editing source or data model or class diagram rendering while generating code. It is all so frustrating since we are expected to create code that will be thread safe and speedy on multicore business PCs.

Microsoft is a true villian in fighting multicore which is proven mainframe technology but requires a different developer skill set. There is little doubt that Vista is being reworked for multicore.

Lets propose a new name for the operating system product. Given that VistA is already owned by (in effect) the US government Microsoft's use of the name Vista has long been in dispute. Is Windows Multicore taken?
