At last! Intel started successfully competing with tiny AMD!
Open that Champagne, let T. Orlando sing and all of us let's hold hands and start wheestling the "Love Boat" tune !!! happy !!!

It meant to happen one day: the fat, dumb and happy kid managed to "turn the corner" and showed up struggling to walk at full speed with all the belly and breast fat wiggling left and right, up and down.

Now what's next?

As soon as tinny AMD makes a swift move, the fat belly-breasted kid starts wielding its weight around and starts the unsteady movements again to catch up... and life goes on.

Isn't this funny to watch? Someone at last (AMD) made some progress and forced the complacent giant to do some ACTUAL design work.

Otherwise, we would keep seeing more tech wonders along the netburp line with 62 pipeline stages and running at 10GHz ...

The road is still long and "rocky" since now the new core-2 processors are placing strong pressure to the memory subsystem and people ARE looking for systems with more than TWO sockets. Good luck with that: Intel let's NOT wait another SEVEN YEARS to see some progress there as well....
