AMD better for MPP...
Core Duo has better performance in the single unit comparison; but Opteron is better architected for interconnection for multi-CPU products. Intel will have trouble beyond 2-way with Core Duo right now...it'll be another year and a half before they have a version of it out that is ready for 4-way and up.
