- What have Intel been waiting for all these years ?

Montecito is not even as good as Power5+, how are they expecting people to switch into IA64? I see only some specialized centers getting the SGI 4700 only because their s/w runs nowhere else. NASA is one of these folks.
I am affraid that Intel will cancel IA64 alltogether and try again after five years with possibly another grandiose scheme, like IA128....
