I would choose the best processor that would suit my needs. Those needs are more processing done with the fewest resources consumed. It is called bang for the buck or computing mileage. The Conroe is cheaper to buy, uses less electricity and goes faster than the fastest AMD on the planet. I never had reliability problems until I went with AMD. I believe it is due to crappy chipset support with the exception of nforce. Plus think of your AC not kicking in as much. Your claims are bogus. I am sure AMD will counter offer.
