The Intel processor.

Not knowing their developement cycle, how would you know that it was "forced" ahead by 3 to 6 months?

We've all seen companies pull this stunt, too: a new product is ready for realese, but they sit on it untill they move existing inventories of the old products to recoup there investment on it. Once those inventories have dropped to a level they are satisfied with, they then release the new product.

Maybe they just decided that it was time to release it, and let the inventories of the older products drop at a slower rate.

Intel has more then enough money to do this.
