No, really, now...
Sun and some OSS companies trying to slow innovation down? Please. Those are precisely the companies that are trying to jump ahead. Because they need to. Linux has brought XGL to market ahead of Vista's similar capability. AMD? Brought dual-core to market ahead of Intel. They were operating in the red for many years. They certainly didn't slow down on innovations like dual-core in order to maintain profit margins. Your five paragraph spiel was complete and utter bull. And its parent was full of some real stretches too. At least the parent got the fact right that Al Gore is an advisor to GOOG...and Al has always been a tree-hugger. Assumptions after that are largely unsubstantiable.
