If you've ever used Sun servers you would know why they cost more.
It's been a while since I worked with Sun servers, but old
outdated Sun servers continuously outperformed much newer
and supposedly better Windows servers. The company I worked
for did all their important work on Sun servers and used the
Windows server as a web server. The only time the Suns went
down was for extended power outages or if some well meaning
person unplugged the system while straightening up. Believe it
or not it happens. Other than that they were overworked and
responded flawlessly. I don't have much experience with IBM or
newer Linux servers on really good equipment, but one thing
you can count on from Sun is quality.
