HO HO HO... it wont. Intel designed a 2 socket MCH.
The MCH (called "twin-tower") has 2 point-to-point links, one for each processor socket and is designed to meet the mem BW of a two core system. With dual (or more) core Xeons the MCH will be overwhelmed.

Mind you they do NOT have any design for MORE than 2 socket SMPs yet. I doubt that they ever do this, or they would had done it for their Itanium-2. As a matter of fact they did do some pre-work but I don't see anyone usign Intel's "scalability hub" to support > 4 itanium-2 in their platforms. I may be mistaken though.

Intel goes for the massive numbers of 2 - 4 core SMPs and they will never bother to catter to the needs of high-end systems.
