I also remember said the old man
The first computer on which I worked was a Univac 1218. It had 16K of magnetic wire-wound memory and, as you said, was the size of a refrigerator. Toward the end of its life I remember getting spare parts from the Naval Supply Center Museum in Athens Georgia. aah the good(?) ole days....
