What will destroy Intel first: Their hype or their reputation?
Intel's been pouring the kool-aid by the gallon lately. Thier "benchmarks" make AMD's CPUs look like turtles. Either those chips (Conroe and Woodcrest) are really that good, or they doctored the results by, oh... let's say, [url=http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9584_22-6085568.html]dropping the room temperature to near-absolute-zero.[/url] If independent, real-world testing confirms the claims, Intel has the means for a comeback. But, if those test don't give similar results to Intel's, that would be bigget bullet in their foot and the final nail in the coffin.

For some time, Intel has had to play 2nd best to a company that used to be one chip-generation behind them. Recovering from that defeat will take a major effort and possibly a miracle. Intel now (reportedly) has better technolgy than AMD and can take the lead...
...Then again, Betamax was better technolgy than VHS and was expected to take the lead.
