I think they made a serious error going Intel. If nothing else than Intel's less than stellar track record of actually delivering on the chips. Then there's the fact that to Intel, Apple is just another PC maker and if things get tight, I expect Apple will get less chips than they need. At least with AMD, Apple would have been a major player.
No, I'm not ditching Macs. They are the best platform out there. Period. I'd do Linux, but I find it ugly from a UI perspective (worse than XP, if that's possible) and most apps I use are not available. And I'm sure not going back to Windows.....
If there's a way to get OS X to run on an AMD box (betas do), I'm all over that - legal or otherwise. I'll still buy the OS upgrades as I have, but I'll install on my own box. However, I think Leopard will be tightly locked down.
