Curbing tax evasion with license plate scanners

Why do you hate flowers?: I don't like government waste any more than the next person, but I don't see anything wrong with beautification projects. I'd rather live in a place that looks beautiful and takes pride in itself (and I do) than one that looks like no one cares about it, and there's trash on the roads, overgrown grass, and a general mess.

And chances are those flowers were planted by volunteers. My parents live a few suburbs over (in another one that takes pride in itself) and Mom is a member of an organization that plants flowers along local roads and creates splashes of color to brighten peoples' day.
