Adapting Definitions to 'Adaptive Enterprise'
It takes a huge amount of ambition to undertake those ventures which the 'new' HP has chosen to pursue. Carly Fiorina has had the monumental task of coordinating that ambition, which has been no small task indeed. To help her further that coordination, I offer her the possibilty of using the following definition, royalty free (although any gift they may wish to send as thanks would not be turned away):
Adaptive Enterprise is the process by which businesses more simply and effectively do the things they need technology to do for them. The end state is that all business processes (from a technology standpoint) are whittled down to their irreduceable minimums.
Again, this is a definition I've culled from reading and listening at length to Carly's ideas on what it means to HP. Aside from that definition, it is a term that is broad enough to mean virtually anything someone would want it to mean.
