Linux guys love the idea because they like
ANY idea that promotes their cause, and to them, it IS a cause more than a mere os.
I don't agree that the windows guys feel threatened by it. They see the idea for what it is, a waste of money and resources, a pipedream with little hope of coming to fruition. I've seen the photos of the prototypes and read the specs ( which have changed more than once ) and it looks to me to be little better than the Vcast toy computers you can buy at Toys R Us, are are probably just as durable - not. If, by some miracle, these things actually get made and distributed, I'll bet that within a matter of weeks or months, most of them will be broken.
The OS argument that always seems to break out in these forums is irrelavent in this one. With only a small amount of flash memory available (no HD), there's no way in hell Windows or nearly any other os will work in this thing. It'll take a stripped down and crippled form of linux or BSD or something similar to make it work at all, further limiting its usefulness.
