What you don't know about CPUs would fill volumes.

You don't integrate DRAM onto a CPU chip. They use different processes. Doubling the SRAM cache would be nice, but expensive for a small boost.

What AMD really needs inside the CPU is a better BPU (Branch Prediction Unit). Intel's new one is 97% accurate, while AMD's is only 93% -- leading to more cache misses and more external memory access delays.

The other thing AMD needs is 64-bit software and a really good optimizing compiler for it. Intel's 64-bit mode is a poor imitation that actually slows down the chip.
