Ummm...
Do you know how big the die would get if you wanted to add 4GB of memory? Are you talking SRAM (which is what the cache is made up of)? A lot of the Intel Xeon processors have huge L2 caches, meaning 2-4MB caches. Those caches take up close 50% of the space on the entire die. If you added 4GB of L2 cache, the size of the chip would be enormous. It would be absurdly expensive to manufacture.

AMD and Intel have a lot of smart people working for them, if it was feasible, they would have done it.
