Heh.

The PC hardware failure rate is close to 15%, the Mac hardware failure rate is extremely close to 0% (two hardware failures of the 600+ machines I've supported).

That's an irrelevant thesis, given that the same PC companies also manufacture Apple's stuff. Quanta, Foxconn, ASUS... all of them manufacture Macs and Dells side by side.

The Macintosh OS problems were worse under OS 9 (about 2% of them had to have the OS wiped/reinstalled at some point), but they have vitrually disappeared under OS X (a single failure out of the 200 computers I supported).

Then you didn't know how to properly maintain a Windows PC.

PCs? Don't get me started. At least 20% of the time it's quicker to wipe the machine and reinstall the OS than to track down the problem, and the number of failures has not gone down over time

Unless you actually know how to properly maintain a PC, in which case you don't get problems.

Which brings me to my last point: Macs last longer than PCs. Over the past dozen years, most of the organizations I worked for had policies to replace the Windows computers every three or four years. And by policy, they replaced their Macintoshes every five or six years; thus saving themselves money by making the hardware last longer.

Did you ever bother to consider the idea that the reason they didn't replace their Macs at the same rate they replaced their PC's was because Macs are ludicrously expensive? No, obviously to you, it had to be because "PC's aren't reliable." Well sir, let me introduce you to an 8-year old Dell Dimension XPS D300 with a 300 MHz Pentium II and 384 MB SDRAM running Windows XP Professional. Or maybe I should introduce you to the 120 MHz NEC Ready that I fixed up and got working.

BMWs might not be reliable, but Macintoshes are. And if you choose not to see that, I guess you are truly the most blind of them all.

Yes, of course. If you blithely choose to buy and learn about PC's for your computing experience, I guess you're truly "the most blind of them all." I would say that the closed-minded zealots who think everyone should buy a Macintosh are pretty blind, but you apparently think otherwise.
