Softer versus Better
Bit, you claim that many "softer" methods have been tried
and they've failed, and now we need these ridiculous
fascist laws to curtail the massive "theft" that's going on.

First off, could you detail the "softer" methods that have
failed? Second, could you detail the losses of the MPAA
due to piracy. I'll give you a headstart:
http://www.wired.com/news/print/0,1294,60947,00.html

Fritz Attaway, the Motion Picture Association of America's
executive vice president for government relations and
Washington general counsel dmitted that there were
currently no recorded losses from piracy of broadcast
shows.

How about instead of adding more silly laws that don't
solve anything, and that just limit legitimate consumers
and legitimate technology manufacturers, they instead
work on 1) enforcing existing laws, and 2) adapting their
business model to keep up with the times.
