Simply not true
"The thing I find interesting is that the article said quite plainly that the only thing it will do is stop "sharing" via the internet. It in no way effects the average users "fair use" rights, and yet all the posts are whining about it."

The article simply repeated what the MPAA said and what the MPAA said was a flat lie.

This flag does not stop uploads of anything to the Internet, it does not tackle anything about piracy. It isn't even an anti-piracy measure.

Worse still Joe Public is supposed to buy an expensive new TV to support it. (and when phase 2 comes along an expensive new DRM'd VCR).

Claiming it fixes piracy is just a flat lie.
