Yes, I did consider both
But for me, a handheld is more curiosity device than necessity. What numbers I have need to keep track of I can easily do so with my memory, calendars and note taking would be fine, but I don't fit the traditional handheld target demographic. With the multimedia features becoming more prevalent in these devices, they have become more jack of all trades and some of those trades quite interesting, like phone and music/video playback, . . but when presented with an "either or" situation, I would have to go with a notebook. If cash were not hindrance, both would be great. Perception wise, I still find the notebook a more capable device, albeit heavier.
