IBM was the first to have Opteron
But they were too busy pushing their X3 Chipset on the Xeon to worry about marketing Opteron Systems.

Had IBM pushed their Opterons instead of making them a vaporware server, they would have made a nice little dent in the x86 Server Market that Sun and HP now have.
