They merely overhauled the P3, which means they are acknowledging how pathetic the P4 was from the start... as the P4 wasa designed to run at higher clock speeds, what they forgot to tell everybody was how each clock speed ran fewer instructions. Intel effectively cheated and sold their product with the usual mindset of more MHz = better performance. *BZZT* Wrong.
