Fourteen hundred dollars?????!!!!!
Are they nuts???

The ONLY way these things are going to get a market is if they're cheap enough to buy one just to have an internet (or other media) viewer lying around. I'd consider getting one for $600, and maybe even go as high as $700, but long term they'll need to be under $500 to make a dent. After all, you can get laptops for $600-$700 with nice screens, 60G hard drives, DVD player and CDRW burner, etc. Consumers are going to look at these as a laptop's little brother, worth a couple hundred LESS than a laptop- not TWICE AS MUCH.

If they don't get wise, it'll be yet another potentially useful product killed by brain-dead marketing morons.
