And while you are playing games on your machine, you cannot do sound editing, video recording, CD creation, etc...

I haven't had a machine yet that I could burn a CD and surf the internet (opening new browser windows) without underrunning the buffer and losing the CD.

Point is, yes it can do each of these things, but not all of them at the same time. That is the beauty of having multiple machines, dedicated or PCs.
