No it is a computer dedicated to audio recording.

But I do all my intial recordings on a four track tape and use the PC for final mixes if four tracks is not enough, and to burn a single master CD.

I would rather have a dedicated harddisk recorder because I would nat have to worry about it going BSOD in the middle of a take.

Same for a CD-burner. The guy that makes my copies for me has far far less coasters from his stand alose CD copier than I have with my PC coping CD's.
