Can your stereo...
Can your stereo edit sound files? Can you burn your own CD's with your stereo? Does your stereo handle MP3, WMA, OOG, formats?

It would seem to me the PC with a quality sound card beats a stereo hands down. All you need is a decent amp and speakers.
