No longer work for Best Buy
If you read my post I was referring to a past job over 8 years ago. I have come a long way since then. Currently I manage a network for a High School district with over 12,000 users (including students) and aproximately 3000 computers. Manage Servers running Windows, Novell, and Linux ranging from the simple File/Print to high end SQL Databases. I also manage CISCO switches and CISCO IP Telephone systems. Now I have a team of techs to help with that as we are a big school district, but seeing as I am Sr. IT Support Professional I think I know what I am talking about as it is based on years of experience. I have my A+, Network +, CCNA, and CNA certifications and worked very hard to get where I am at today.

"If Intel came in and insisted you put the AMD in a non-peferred location and you did it, who should we blame Intel or Best Buy? Isn't paying for preferred placement a common practice in retail? Doesn't Sony do the same thing with TV's? In fact, isn't that the only way you get on an endcap?'

I didn't do the moving it was the management because Intel threats (yes threats). The sales people were told to sway the customers away from AMD systems and if they did Intel would give them stuff, which I consider bribery. Intel had no pull on where the computers where placed, that was determined by the weekly ad and the computer manufacturers. After all Intel does not make computers, HP, Compaq, etc.. do.

In another post you mentioned you work for one of the Top 3 OEMS. I am curious to who that may be and what do you do for them. Besides I think there was a Tom's hardware or Anandtech article or something saying intel fudged those benchmarks to make the system appear faster than they were. I will have to see if I can find that article.
