with that. When you've got something that actually works why would you 'block it off - in this instance,turning the modulated laser on and off, in order to use it.

If Intel can cut a wire they certainly should be able to cut a whole through a fiber thread.Maybe perhaps hollow a thread with a copper line somewhere to 'funnel off either the electrons or the photons. Or do the same to 'read the 'information from the electron/photons.

Electrons are grounded for life while photons are usually too strung out to care.
