Fiber can indeed offer TerraByte/Sec bandwidth. However,
several different light freq. must be muxed to get that kind of
thruput. I don't see that happening on a single chip for many,
many years.

Essentially all Intel is doing is turning the laser on and off really
fast. To get real fast speeds you need to modulate the actual
beam.

I hand to chuckle at the part about heat, Intel procs are blast
furnaces!
