- I've had bad luck w/ Lenovo's junk before . . .

so it really has nothing to do with *who* makes the stuff, I really couldn't care. I just won't spend my hard earned dollars on unreliable junk : whether it's Chinese, Japanese, or American junk doesn't matter.
A quality product earns my business. It's as simple as that. Lenovo's quality has been demonstrated to be extremely poor, so their off the buy-list.
Just my $0.02 USD, your opinion may vary and you're welcome to it, but I won't be buying any of Lenovo's trash.
