This deal deserves to be shot down just like the DP World acquisition of US ports. Both deals dealt critical infrastructure. Both deals dealt with companies owned (fully or partially) by foreign governments. The only noticeable difference between the two deals is that the Chinese government is hostile to the US, while the people of the UAE are hostile to the US and their government is friendly.
This is not "paranoia". The Communist Chinese government is OPENLY hostile to the US on many levels. This government has historically been hostile to the US and US interests.
