So what Michael is saying is....
there are two kinds of people in the world, size queens and liars,
right?

I read this article with great interest because it is a usual part of
the CNET/ZDNET/Microsft love fest: Vista is late, Apple, as
ZDNET predicted, should win from it so let's write a negative
article.

Apple is EXACTLY the company it wants to be playing in a sea of
players that think everyone is supposed to be exactly the same.

Steve Jobs doesn't want to be the richest man in the world. Even
Bill Gates didn't want to be the richest man in the world, it just
happened and not through his own genius.

The point is that Apple's market share dips in the world because
Apple doesn't play in the whole world anymore than Gateway
doesn't play in the whole world.

Apple is a vertical company, not a horizontal company. Apple
has made itself a high-growth, high margin company similar to
MIcrosoft, a very battered company.

Compaq, Amiga, Commodore, etc. all played the price point
game when Apple didn't. Apple survived, the others didn't.

Apple is THE ONLY pc manufacturer that fully understands the
user and ignores the IT department, as it should be.

This article points out the failures only. OK, so what? You can't
fail if you don't innovate and if you don't innovate, you die.

All you people that are employed and have never started your
own thing or created or your own thing in your life, really should
stop pointing fingers. Apple, at 30 years old, is STILL the
leading IT company.

Unless, of course, you are a size queen.
