Power not really use on big iron
If by "big iron" you mean IBM's mainframes, your not really correct.

The main CPU's on IBM's mainframes are NOT power base. They are proprietary in design, but the only place IBM uses the PowerPC chips on the mainframes is on the IO cards.

I got into IT 25 years ago and I was told then not to get into mainframes because they were on their way out. Well it been 25 years, their still here, still the most well rouned platform there is and in most instances still have a lower TCO when you need to support thousands of users running many diverse applications. I don't need multiple boxes to run one app, I can run multiple apps on one box.
