informed implies you know about what you speak
Clearly Loverock doesn't.

"Sorry but Novell offers absolutely nothing over its competitors."

Competitors in the server and desktop space include windows,
Mac OS X and alternative Linuxes.

Clearly Novell SELS/SELD are different to all of these products
(though you would have to learn a little about Linux to see the
difference).

Novell Linux offers superior stability, scalability (512 processor
or 1024 on IA_64), reliability and security to windows. It also
bundles some 1,500 applications into the distribution with none
of the licensing complexities of windows (user/device and
terminal services licenses anyone?). Developer tools are also
included as is a separate SDK (also free of charge).

Novell Linux offers a certified Linux platform for deployment of
Linux based solutions which differentiates to the non-Linux, but
*nix, Mac OS X platform (scalability is also a big plus compared
to Mac OS X which is restricted to Apple hardware).

The big head-to-head competitor Novell has is RedHat EL. Both
are very good commercially support Linux alternatives but they
too are not the same. CODE10 will see RedHat and Novell
continue to diverge - Novell backing AppArmor RHEL SELinux,
NOES Netware, SLED Xgl, Novell support for YaST, etc.

Whether one is better than the other is for circumstances to
determine, however Novell Linux is a welcome alternative for the
open-minded.
