Nice idea.. but who's going to build your home network?
Hopefully, someone in the family can build a network in the home. Or maybe that geeky kid next door can do it for you.

What about your home? Do you have a router stashed in a closet somewhere? Is your home already wired for a network, or will you need something like WiFi or homeplug to get started?

Don't forget, you need to maintain, upgrade, and backup that new net storage! Not to mention, defending it from hackers, crooks, the RIAA, and Duh'bya.

Think about how buisnesses deal with their NAS systems before rushing out to buy or build one. They have IT departments with the $ and manpower to make NAS work. The cost and effort may be more than what most folks (the lame non-techie fleshoids) can afford for what little can be gained for home use.
