Unfortunately
That is why I said most. Sometimes they get lucky and/or a person actually takes a little pride in their job and takes the time necessary to learn the right material.

As for the CompUSA bit, I think it is just normal for most of those chains. BestBuy, Circuit City, CompUSA. I sometimes feel like it is my place to step in and correct a salesmen when they are totally BSing a customer. Usually I get a nice smile and some gratitude from the customer and the salesmen will give me a dirty look. I had one tell me that I was an idiot and he knew more than me. It was at that point I told him that you are a lowly salesmen at best buy and I manage a Network of 1000's of computers/Servers. Once I showed him my A+, Network Plus, CCNA etc.. He shut up. He complained to the store manager (which knows me as I used to work there) and he just laughed at him. The store manager found me later in the store and thanked me for putting him in his place. Some cocky 17 year old kid thinking he knows more than he does.
