Why use windows
How can people still buy ms windows for professional use?

Because it's easy to install, and administer. It's stable enough, it has tons of software avaiable for it, and it performs well enough.

UNIX/Linux has been ported to almost everything 32 or 64 bit!

So what. Can you natively run MS Office suite on UNIX/Linux? How about Internet Explorer 6? Is every database 5 Gigs in size?
