Someone pointed it out already
The New big thing in anything including information technology has not been thought of yet. To say there is no next big thing, invention or innovation is a demostration that person lacks vision.

Lacking vision is not a problem. Most people do lack vision. I lack vision. If I could think of the next big thing I'd be rich. But to tell people there is no next big thing is silly and just ignorant.

Now the job of top executives like CEOs and CIO is to have vision to be able to find the next big thing and guide the corporation in a direction of the next big thing. To say there is no next big thing as top executive kind shows me why not to invest in that company.

Reminds of the AIM Trimark comercials on TV where they show companies missing big opportunities while the AIM Trimark guy has the vision to see huge potential.
