Sounds like a definition of INNOVATION to suit IBM
Since IBM sold the PC company to Lenovo, it has struggled to retain a reputation for innovation with the man in the street, because the man in the street is now unlikely ever to be aware of seeing an IBM product.

It's all about services now inside IBM, and IBM has a bizarre definition of 'solution' that requires a certain percentage of services revenue to qualify.

So we should not be surprised that IBM thinks it can re-define 'innovation' which also anticipates a certain services content.

IBM's relevance to IT and innovation can be measured by a visit to any decent bookshop -- what proportion of the Computing shelfspace do books on IBM products occupy? Compare that with how it was 20 years ago.
